Jack is an experienced Perth commercial lawyer with extensive corporate advisory experience in transactional, foreign investment, corporate taxation, restructuring and regulatory matters. In late 2012, Jack left his position at Lavan Legal to establish CrowdfundUP, Australia's first property crowdfunding platform. Since it's inception in 2012, Jack has played an influential role in shaping the Australian crowdfunding industry and regulatory requirements. He has been on the forefront of discussions with the Australian Government championing the benefits of crowdfunding and innovation on the Australian economy. Jack has become a leader in the financial technology space, regularly speaking at events and conferences, contributing to startup mentorship programs, and educating people on the future of disruptive and innovative technology.
Derek is Co-Founder and Investment Manager at CrowdfundUP. Derek is an experienced property professional with over 12 years first hand experience across a wide range of property projects and sectors. Derek's experience includes lead roles centered around acquisitions, development management, equity raising, syndicate management, sales, project management, and development master planning. Derek co-founded and was Managing Director of Blue Salt Property Group, a Perth based property development group specialising in land developments in WA. Prior to Blue Salt Property Group, Derek was Head of Property Development and Acquisitions for Bunnings Property Group in WA and SA during one of the most significant period of growth in the history of the company. Derek previously held a management position at the globally prestigious CB Richard Ellis. As Investment Manager, Derek is responsible for identifying projects and working with qualified developers to create opportunities for CrowdfundUP investors.
Marc is Co-Founder and Business Development Manager at CrowdfundUP. Marc is an experienced Senior Financial Advisor with over 20 years experience in financial services, funds management and stockbroking, and is currently Senior Financial Advisor with Bell Potter Securities. He has gained a high level of financial markets experience working for several leading financial services firms including Merrill Lynch. In his role as senior financial advisor with Merrill Lynch, Marc was involved in taking a number of Australian companies from the seed capitalisation stage through to exit via IPO. As Business Development Manager, Marc is responsible for developing and maintaining CrowdfundUP’s relationships with institutional and wholesale clients.
Andrew is a qualified and experienced Chartered Accountant (ACA) and Senior Manager of Strategy and Operations at a Big 4 Accounting firm. Andrew brings a wealth of experience gained from his time working across Australia, North America and the UK. He has expertise in areas of business strategy development, major capital project planning, cost reduction, mergers and acquisition advisory, and operational business improvement. Andrew has worked across a range of industries including oil & gas, mining, utilities, government, higher education and major infrastructure projects. As Strategic Manager, Andrew is responsible for driving the development of both the commercial and operational business strategy.
Ashleigh is Marketing and Operations Manager at CrowdfundUP. Ashleigh is a Business Analyst and Marketing professional with a background in Law and Marketing. Ashleigh’s key experience includes sales, marketing, and business development across a wide range of industries. Previously, Ashleigh was Marketing Specialist for a New York-based fashion designer, driving the label’s strategic marketing, market research and business development activities.Prior to this, Ashleigh was Business Analyst at Leighton Contractors, a leading contractor in Oil and Gas / Mining, where she was involved in organisational change management, business case development, and data analysis. As Marketing and Operations Manager at CrowdfundUP, Ashleigh drives the company’s integrated marketing strategy alongside research, analysis, and business planning and development.
Jono is International Relations Coordinator at CrowdfundUP. Jono is from Southern China and grew up working in Business Development in his family's export business, growing the business to over 2,000 employees. Jono moved to Western Australia to further his education and is in the final stages of completing his degree in International Business. Splitting his time between Australia and China, Jono brings international expertise to CrowdfundUP and is responsible for building CrowdfundUP's international presence.
Having headed up the property teams at Macquarie, Rio Tinto and Deloitte, Gary has a tremendous wealth of property experience. This experience includes equity, mezzanine and senior debt raising for real estate projects, feasibility modelling, market and product research, highest and best use analysis, planning assessment and management, asset due diligence and high level risk assessments. Gary will lead our assessment of projects for the platform.
